Furyk nearly delivered the goods at Winged Foot to earn a second US Open crown last month, coming up just shy in a tie for second behind Geoff Ogilvy. It once again displayed his quality and determination when it comes to the big events which makes him one of the leading contenders from across the Pond. He will be desperate to improve his recent record in this event though having missed five straight Open cuts although two top five finishes in the 1990s suggest he can deliver the goods under links-style conditions. Rule him out at your peril.
