Defends the title he won so convincingly 12 months ago at St Andrews as he bids to get his hands on the Old Claret Jug for the first time outside of the Home of Golf. The world number one has been seen infrequently on the fairways of late following the death of his father but he issued a statement of intent with a second place at the Western Open on his last start. Before that his missed cut at the US Open was his first in a major tournament as a professional but Tiger will not let that happen twice in a row.
