Tiger Woods (71 - 203): "There are a bunch of guys up there at the top of the board and we've got to play well ourselves and put ourselves in position. It's not just Sergio and myself. We've got our work cut out tomorrow. I hope I can play like today and putt better. If I had putted normally and took away my three-putts I would have shot four under par."

Ernie Els (71 - 204): "I was just a little out of sorts and I didn't feel comfortable over the ball. My iron play wasn't great but I hung in there. I started hitting the ball better on the last four or five holes and gave myself a few opportunities but it really wasn't great. I just didn't have my rhythm today. But I've got to be happy with my position. I could have been out of it. I could have easily shot a 76 today but somehow I find myself one off the lead. It's got to be a bonus for me."

Chris DiMarco (69 - 204): "It doesn't matter. It would be nice to beat everyone because it means I win. There is nothing extra in beating Tiger, it doesn't matter. Obviously you want to beat the best player in the world but there are five or six guys within a couple of shots and right now they are trying to do the same thing tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it."

Angel Cabrera (66 - 205): "It is very special because the last time it was won (at Hoylake) by an Argentinian, but at this moment I'm really not thinking about the history, I'm thinking about Cabrera. I'm 35 and it's 39 years since it happened so I don't remember very much about it!"

Jim Furyk (66 - 205):"I shot four under on the front nine and got beaten by two shots!"

Sergio Garcia (65 - 204):"I'm hoping to post a good number and hope it's good enough. We like being in this position, it's what we enjoy the most."

Henrik Stenson (74 - 217): "It was a real bad horror finish. That nine killed my round today."

Luke Donald (73 - 215): "I am not sure why we are behind the Americans and the foreign players. Perhaps we put too much pressure on ourselves."
